Two of us will be staying near JFK in October and will need to fly out of ISP. What is the best way to get from one area to the other?

Estimated cost:
That cab ride would cost about $83.90. That is roughly $96 with a 15% tip. It is about 38.9 miles. There is a $0.50 New York State tax on all taxi rides

If you are looking to save money and sacrifice some convenience, you can take the airtrain to Jamaica and transfer for the LIRR to Ronkonkoma. it is a quick and affordable cab ride to the airport from there. cabs hang out at the station or there is a shuttle service you can use. it is about a 10 minute or less ride form LIRR. I am adding links.
