Where is the best place in NYC to find real artists selling their work on the street?

I like watching the artists at the Met on 5th Ave. I've gotten some great pieces from a chap named Tiggy Ticehurt who is often there.

Union Square is very good but West Broadway on weekends in Soho can rival some of the galleries.
