i was wondering if there are any good quality chinese restaurants in manhattan, not too far from times square?

nothing too expensive, but somewhere with good service and great food. any suggestions greatly appreciated!

You can look at menupages.com for restaurants and reviews. There are quite a few restaurants on 8th and 9th Avenues within 10-15 minute walk from Times Square.

Have a look at the China Grill. It's not cheap, but the food is wonderful.

I haven't actually been here, but was just talking to a chef and he says this is a great chinese restaurant:
