The ballot suffers from a compound problem: It presents choices in an unclear way, and in a situation characterized by time pressure and a lack of information. While previous initiatives have taken on the first of those factors, we took on the second two.

Our solution is to create a voting experience that combines the speed of E-ZPass with some of the in-person authentication features of the airline check-in process.
