My fiance and I are going to go to NYC to get married. He has never seen the ocean and I would like to take him to Coney Island and we are staying near 7th Street in Manhattan. How long is it going to take to get there and what is the best way to get there? Is this a good time of year to go? Any suggestions about a Coney Island trip from Manhattan would be great. Can't wait to see the city!!!

Take the N, F, D OR Q train to the last stop, Coney Island. The Q and N trains are on the BMT Broadway line; The D and F are on the BMT Sixth Avenue lines.

I must way, though, the water t Coney Island is really the tip of Rockaway Inlet, if you want to see the open ocean, go to Rockaway. Not Far Rockaway, go to Rockaway Park, it's a safer area. Take the A train to Broad Channel, and change for the Rockaway Park shuttle.
