I am a first timer to New York this September and my husband and I are hoping to catch a Mets game while we're there. We are staying at West 55th street in midtown and have been told the best way to get to the game is by train. Can you let me know if this is a safe way to travel to and from the game? Also is it worth stopping along the way to the game and visiting some areas of Queens? If so where is good? Thanks for your help.

7 train, perfectly safe. If you like modern art @ Court House Square first stop in Queens check out PS1 across the street. Here also you'll see 5 Pointz a building filled with 'legal' graffiti. FYI Across from Citi Field is The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center where the US Open is played.
