My friend and our 2 19 year old girls want to know what neighborhoods we can walk around on a Saturday night and look at cool clothes, shoes etc. I remember maybe 25 years ago it was the west village. Is that still a good place or is another place better?

The Village is fine to walk around, but offhand, I can't think of any stores that would be open at night, though sometimes you'll see some boutiques stay open a bit late.

Maybe Union Square for Filene's, DSW, and Virgin Mega Store. If your girls are into skateboards, a lot of boarders hang around in Union Square, therefore a lot of young people.
