Hi all

Im planning my first visit to the US and NY. I was wondering if Sept is a good time to visit NY. Is it cool/cold/warm? What kind of clothes should I carry?

September and October are New York's best months, weather-wise. The beginning of September, it may still be very hot, with highs up to the high 80s. By the end of September, you'll have consistently warm, pleasant days, with some rain.

September is usually one of the most glorious months in NYC. The first week or two is still summer (i.e., it can be hot) but the rest of the month is usually perfect, unless we get a hurricane. Remember how clear and beautiful the weather was on September 11, 2001? That's pretty common for the middle of the month. By the end of the month you will probably need a sweater or light jacket, especially for evenings.
