I'm going to be in NYC March 8 - 12 for The Big East Championship and will be staying near Madison Square Garden. What are some cool bars/clubs in walking distance from there?

Why hang out by the Garden, jump on a train and explore. Meatpacking district, East Village, West Village, Soho....

Actually, I'm staying near Times Square but will be spending most of the trip in the Garden. I guess it would have been better to ask for the best places around Times Square

Mustang Sallys on 7th Ave near 28th Street, is a great bar with really good pub food, and is close to the Garden. On that stretch of 7th between 28th and the Garden are also, Tripe Crown, Seven and Mustand Harrys, all good.
