Hi, I am new to New York and would like to rent an apartment on the Upper West Side, but am a bit disturbed at the prospect of having to waste time sitting around in a laundromat. Are there any services that will collect and deliver washing to your door, and how much does that kind of thing cost?

hi Mary,
I answered your question in a different post, but here it is copied over:
there are lots of places where you can drop off your laundry and collect it later on, and some will also deliver. They usually charge some small-ish charge per pound of clothing, with a minimum of so many pounds per order. I used to do this, and my usual charge was about ten dollars.
And someone else posted as well:
Have a look at this site..'[www.ladieswholaunder.com]'. I'm sure there must be more companies, but this is one I'd heard of.
