Anyone know of a great sushi restaurant? Preferably romantic or up-scale?

Taka on west 4th....the most respected female sushi chef in nyc....
Nobu is arguably the best japanese restaurant but it is modern not truly authentic

Went there again on Saturday night, it is still great and has jazz every night. Soshi behind the bar knows the best saki to have.

My husband has been doing his homework since May last year so I can't claim all the credit. He likes going to Sushi Taro because it is in our street, has good food and he likes to practice his Japanese.

Sushi Taro is now Coco Sushi and is really great, they have many of the more traditional Japanese dishes.

Minado on 32nd St at 5th Ave, all you can eat sushi but really great.
