I am a white female who is coming to hamilton heights to live for a month and was curious if i will be safe. i live in a big city now so street smarts , i have, but should i be worried??? grocery stores?? gyms??? etc??? thanks to ya

Ash, I think the reason you got no answers is 1) There seem to be an overwhelming number of posts about whether people will be safe in parts of NY and 2) There are very few areas of the city so dangerous that you cannot live there for a MONTH without an incident. It's been my experience that almost anything is tolerable for a month.

Oh, also, there's a NY Sports Club on 145th Street and a Starbucks a few blocks East of there, so it seems to me to be probably true that gentrification has arrived up there, but I haven't been up there in years.
