I first visited your city in July 1998 and the travel company here in Uk, booked me into a low cost hotel on 111 st? [May be higher] called the Ellington. Nobody could find it, itwas not in any directory, and I ended up walking through Harlem looking for it. I must say at this point that the people up there were absolutely tremendous and I spent some time up there with no hint of trouble whatsoever.

Anyway, I have been back to NYC six times since and have tried to find this hotel but I've failed on each occasion. I'm just curious to know if it exists and what is the correct address. Have any of you New Yorkers heard of it?
Cab drivers didn't know it, police didn't know it, other hotels hadn't heard of it.

Incidently I got my money back but that doesnt solve my puzzle. Help out a curious Scots /Irishman as I'll be back in March and I'm determined to succeed in locating it.

Thanks

Stevie..

A frequent Scots/Irish visitor and I'm in that" New York state of mind".
