Grits are a southern (like "Gone With the Wind" kind of southern) side dish that is similar to cream of wheat, but is made of corn. It's most commonly served as a side for breakfast. (Some mix in cheese others salt, pepper and butter others butter and sugar). When you see it as a side for lunch or dinnerit's ussually with catfish or the famous low-country (S. Carolina) shrimp and grits.
