Vegetarian-friendly restaurants

Hi there,

I'm coming to Manhattan soon with 5 meat-eating friends and wanted to know of any decent places to eat that offer a good choice for vegetarians too as i don't want to a) miss out on some great food and b) force my dedicated meat eating friends to go veggie while we're in the city.

Please help!

I really like Green Table, which is in Chelsea Market. It's a casual place with really good food. Here's their menu:

Pappardella is a favorite Italian, on the upper west side. Excellent food for carnivores, and excellent pasta:

And if your friends can stand ONE dinner without meat, you must try NYC's best vegan restaurant, Blossom.

here's a good list of vegetarian restaurants in NYC:

there is a really good vegan place called Modern Love, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is at 317 Union Ave. It's pretty popular so make a reservation.
The desserts are really tasty, especially the brownie with peanut butter ice cream. And, I like the "mac and shews" dish, as well as the rice ball appetizer. Non-vegans will do fine here, but every item on the menu is vegan.
