Going to NY for Spring - food/night suggestions?

Posted by Jen
Hey,

I will be visiting New York with my boyfriend for a week at the end of April. We were wondering what some great cheap fun pubs or restaurants to eat at would be. And also, what are some fun things to do at night and where we could do some fun shopping?

We're both 21 and we're staying on East Broadway near Chinatown. And are there any places to get cheap Broadway tickets? I was hoping to see Lion King for less than $100 whatever prices, lol. Thanks!

Hi Jen,

www.broadwaybox.com for tickets via internet or phone.

My favorite food blog is www.vittlesvamp.com she talks about restaurants/food and cocktails/bars giving me lots of great ideas for my next visit. Scroll down a couple weeks as she was recently in Philly and writing about that foodie visit.

Enjoy planning your visit. Be sure to come back here to tell us what you did, and what you loved!

for a good place to eat that is fun and reasonably priced, try Sea in the meatpacking district:

Be sure to go walk along the highline before you go there. It's right across the street.

another place to go (for music, not a restaurant) that is a lot of fun is the Fat Black Pussycat in the village.

Last night I went to a place for the first time, called Macao:

It's on Church St just south of Canal St.
It was a pretty cool place and the food was really good - loved it. I arrived early (6pm) but by the time I left it was packed. I'd go back, for sure. After/before dinner they have a nice bar to hang out at and it was a good crowd.
