Hi,
Does anyone know what address on Queen's Boulevard was Henry Hill's joint 'The Suite'? And what neighborhood was it in and what's it like today?
I just realised I'll be travelling along almost the full length of Queen's Boulevard from East to West next week and I'll have to jump out and take a photo where Billy Batts had his last drink!!! Thanks!

In the movie "Goodfellas" The Sogdiana Restaurant(7320 Grand Ave, Maspeth/Queens, NY 11378) was used to stand-in as "The Suite". But in real life, The Suite was located near Martin Krugman's "For Men Only" (aka Morrie's Wig Shop), which was on Metropolitan Avenue in Ridgewood next to the FDNY firehouse. I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact location of The Suite, cuz I've heard it was right next door to the wig shop & other times I've been told it was 2 blocks away. But it wasn't really on Queens Blvd.

Can't really help too much, but I can say that according to Henry Hill himself (as told in the book Wiseguy), The Suite was 2 blocks away from "For Men Only" (the latter of which appears to be a deli now, according to Google's street view)

Henry Hill, the famed mobster turned FBI informant whose life story was documented in the book "Wiseguy"- upon which Martin Scorsese's 1990 gangster epic "Goodfellas" was based - has died at the age of 69.

Henry Hill was one of the last best guys around.....even thou he ratted, a lot of wanna be "thugs" hate on him to get there 15 secs in the limelight.....a lot of people don't know that even thou Henry was just a" associate" he was treated like a made guy and above because when he was with Paulie, he was introduced to everyone as Big Paul's nephew....so they treated him with the most up most respect.
It was a little past Forest Hills. I sang there. He loved my voice and booked us six weeks in a row. Good times....
Oh and the awning was not red! It was purple with the name "The Suite" on each side. No mention of Henry Hill at all. Unless it was on the roof which I never saw. Hope this answers your question.
And Chicago Santiago is wrong! The suite was no where's near Jamaica. That would not happen!!!!
Whoever you are....you don't know what you're talking about!!!!!
READ THIS WELL.....I SANG THERE FOR SIX WEEKS SOLID. I THINK THAT I SHOULD KNOW WHERE IT WAS. IT WAS ON QUEENS BLVD.
thumbs upThanks Janrys
You're absolutely right. It was on Queens Blvd, and if you didn't know where it was you could easily pass it up. The inside layout was not as depicted in the movie....it was much nicer and a great place to meet women. If you were even a casual acquaintance of some of the made guys, you were treated very nicely. It was one of the few places I really like to go, and in fact met my wife there. I then shipped out for Germany, and when I returned it was gone.
