Jens you're right lots of choices. New York has many fine steak houses. What part of City are you staying? A Keens experience certainly would not disappoint.It's an Old school vibe, smoking pipes line the ceiling from another era. I think your decision will come down to your personal preference in terms of do you want old school or something more progressive upscale like STK in the Meatpacking District...Peter Lugars is in Williamsburg Brooklyn right by the Williamsburg Bridge which is in the old school group

We are staying in Lower Eastside, but restaurant doesn't have to be located near by. Can't really decide whether it should be old school or more upscale. I might just make the decision when we arrive.

del frisco's is hands down the best. Good reason it is the busiest restaurant in America (true story). Pricey yes, but you get what you pay for.
