My son has been in daycare in queens since age 1 year, it costs 1000 per month full time. If they are younger than one expect to pay around $1600 per month..

It is sad that there is no affordable childcare options unless you are unemployed or with a low paying job, which baffles me, because why would you need daycare if you don't work.

Yea everything (rent, car rental, shoes, pets, groceries, etc etc) including childcare costs 3x of what costs in other cities. This is what I found out after living here almost five years with children. Good luck!

Actually, to clear up about affordable daycares.. It doesn't exist for low come or unemployed moms. I have been out of work for 2 years and there are no vouchers. Since the city have made cuts they also included the daycare programs. Most daycares are closing because not enough funding for the programs. I have tried & it's not easy when trying to return to the job world. I will too need to pay a high cost daycare.

I am looking for a good Daycare for a 19 month old in Brooklyn. I do not want group family daycare. I have been to a few of them and find them disappointing. I need a school atmosphere not a home atmosphere.

Hey mom's what if it was 5 hours each day for 5 days and it is only $250 per week. And im talking to the moms that live in Manhattan because the cost of living there is much more expensive than the other boroughs.
