Boy, what a difference a little more research makes....lol. An update of my post earlier. Apparently, Sessions came first. They began upgrading their clocks and moving on from the old Welch designs. One of the first of these new Sessions clocks was a then state-of-the-art regulator—clocks.

The move to regulators worked well for awhile, but by 1930 Sessions realized that electricity was the wave of the future. Thus, the company began producing electric clocks, radio timers, and even televisions. The Great Depression caused Sessions to cease production of spring-wound clocks altogether in 1936, and, during World War II, the Sessions plant devoted itself to the manufacture of war materials.

After the war, Sessions shifted gears again by making cheap electric alarm clocks and kitchen clocks. In 1956, it changed its name to The Sessions Company as sales began to slump. Although innovation was not the company’s strong suit, in the ’50s it introduced “The Lady,” a family-planning clock that was set to a woman’s menstrual cycle to show the days during which she was most fertile. Not surprisingly, these clocks were never very popular during the conservative 1950s, although they are highly sought after by collectors today.

In 1958 Sessions was sold to Consolidated Electronics Industries Corporation, a New York-based company, though production in Connecticut continued. That same year William Sessions, Jr., left Sessions to become a founding member of The New England Clock Company. Following a workers’ strike in 1968, Sessions was sold to United Metal Goods Company, and the Connecticut office was done. By 1969, The Sessions Company was no longer making clocks.

I have a model 870 United Clock Co.made in 1932.It is a ballerina clock with dancing girl and music box. I am looking for a part to repair music box. I need the note comb. Tines are broken off the one I have. It is a 18 note (tine) and measures 13/16" wide X 1" long. I have been unable to find one of correct dimensions. I want to repair this clock for my Grand Daughter as a Christmas gift.

A previous post asked the value of a model 870. In my searches related to this clock I have found those that are in excellant condition to be priced from $100.00 to $175.00.

Good day! I am the prod owner of a clock that has Unite time on a plate that holds a pallet and is set up to look like a watch escapment, with pallet and balance wheel and balance spring. I repaired it over 20 years ago and now I would like to know the age and if there might me any parts available for this great old electric clock? Things are starting to wear out and I have bushed and a few other things and yesterday it just plain quit.
If possible I would like a new mechanisment for this clock. I have found not serial number any where on the clock. There may have been something in the bottom of clock but that has disapeared long time ago.

I have a United Clock Corp. model #422 (fireplace with a man sitting in a rocking chair in front and woman & child/spinningwheel sitting in chair next to him). Clock doesn't work, fireplace lights but no "fire" effect. Wondering if/where it can be repaired.
