neighborhoods to avoid in brooklyn

Posted by angela
Hello, after a few years on the west coast we are ready to go back east. We have never lived in Brooklyn and I'm highly considering it, but I don't know much about the area. I would love to have your imput on th eneighborhoods to defenitly avoid. We have a dog so being near some sort of greenery would be nice.
thanks.

Park Slope-Prospect Heights are right next to Prospect Park where you can find a lot of dogs. Make sure you go there from the Park Slope side not from Crown Heights side - that's another bad neighborhood. This park is huge.
By bad you mean "black or hispanic" neighborhoods right? racist!

by bad I mean neighrhood with higher crime rate where it's not safe to walk at night. If you think Crown Heights or Bedford Stevesant are safe, you can go there in the evening and check it out. Please let me know how it went.

Jake, if you're looking for nice neighborhoods in Brooklyn with significant African-American populations, I suggest Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Prospect Park South/Ditmas Park - all lovely places!

Jake, I guess you are assuming that Leo is not "black or hispanic". How did you come to this conclusion?
