Haha it's easy to spot on google streetview, it has someone having their picture taken with it.

It is 66 Perry Street in the West Village, it is easy to tell which one it is as it has a chain across the steps to stop people from standing on them while having their photos taken.

Hello to all ! i am a huge fan of SEX AND THE CITY so i am wondering...carries apartment was in a building right? that means that other people also live there or they take the building only for satc? and now that satc and the movies are done,are there people that live in the building? and also..did anyone know how can visit carries apartment just to see it from the insight?

The inside of Carrie's apartment was a film set, the outside was filmed on Perry Street and yes people live in the building and they have a chain across the steps because they are sick of people having there photos taken in front.

Well... of course they are sick of people having photos because they don't take money from this.
If there was a ticket that people pay and these money goes to the people from the building they will be very happy!
For God sake! what they think? we are stupid or something?! they have eyes,they know exactly what madness SATC has brought and they present the "sick people" waiting if HBO or someone else make an offer to make them let people take a photo.

If there was so much tired of all these things why they let SATC continue use the street and the outside of building?they could use the law!
I couldn't help but wonder...does anyone from this building watch SATC?they have to be happy...anyway is JUST PICTURES who gives a shit to other apartments or people? we only care about the outside of carries apartment!people just want to go to the steps and take some pictures THAT'S ALL!!!

Pft, I dont feel sorry for the people that live on Perry Street, that people are coming from ALL OVER THE WORLD to their neighborhood to take pictures! They can move out if they dont like it, and let people that actually appreciate the hype, move in. Im sure their would be no shortage of people there!

I went by there in early June. The building owners have put in a donation box and are requesting that anyone who takes a picture make a donation to an animal charity (can't remember what exactly).

The people that live there now may not be the people who originally agreed to have it used in the series and even if they are, they may not have realised the consequences. I'm sure they had no idea that the show would have such a following. Buildings in New York are used all the time in movies and tv shows but that is the only one that appears to attract so many people.

I was at an apartment across the street from there 2 years ago and saw at least 50 people have their photos taken on those steps within one hour. I know I would get pretty sick of it all if it was my home.

How wonderful for all you people that live there and can visit all these places that I can only ever dream of going to see.
