I found the stoop, yes there is a chain across the bottom with a NO TRESPASSING sign.. The street was EMPTY, I CLIMBED over the chain and had some great pics taken.. I will go back again in a few months and I plan on CLIMBING the chain again for another picture.. There were NO COPS anywhere -- Believe me, they have more important things to do than wait for SATC fanatics to trespass on a stoop.. I am sure the tour lady wants people to believe that the cops WAIT for stoop-climbers but I highly doubt they care. By the time they would respond, the pic is over and you have moved on.. This tour person just wants to scare people so they won't do their own tours and keep paying THEM to do the tours.. Everyone wants to see the stoop.. If they can't even drive you PAST it, you should save your money and walk there yourself..

66 Perry Street, it is Between Bleeker and West 4th

IT IS THE RIGHT ONE

I live in the city and I spent three hours today there again, taking with the neighbors. As soon as you go there, you know that it's the right place. There is a NO TREPASSING sign.

When the "Politician" asks Carrie for her address so he can tell her her district to register to vote. And Carrie says: "245 East 73rd St."

True and in the latest James Bond adventure, Bond goes off to Boliva, which was actually filmed in Chile, amongst other locales. Point being, there is a difference between the story location and the filming location.

"Carrie" may "live" on East 73rd, but the FILMING location representing said address is the Perry Street location.

We were just on Perry St. yesterday there is a chain across the steps, and a crazy lady sitting on them yelling that she'll call the cops if you try to take pictures!!!!!

Does anyone know what the law is regarding trespassing etc? Does the stoop count as private property? And surely she couldn't call the cops just because you took a photo, the street is a public place!!

I went on the SATC tour and the real carrie breadshaw house is on perry street. a few blocks from magnolia bakery. the stoop even had a chain across the bottom with a sign saying it was private property. the tour guides were dedicated fans, they knew there sex and the city info.

On the show, Carrie's apartment was supposedly on the upper east side. However, Carrie's apartment is actually in the Village. The address is 66 Perry Street. However, be respectful, many residents on the street have been complaining about hordes of SATC fans hanging out on the street, taking pictures on the stoop and throwing trash on the street.
