Christmas Eve Wedding - City Hall - Are we mad?

Hello there!

Just adding yet another post about eloping to New York (sorry to bore you!).

We're a couple from Ireland, travelling to NYC on 21st December this year with plans of a simple ceremony at City Hall on either 23rd or 24th, depending on our research and ability to find a photographer/witness.

Posing a question to those in the know - would there be any difficulties in getting married in City Hall on Christmas Eve? We were engaged on Christmas Eve and would love to seal the deal exactly a year later - but how crazy are we to expect to be able to turn up on Christmas Eve morning (first thing!) and get married? Would we be better aiming for the 23rd?

Any help and advice would be much appreciated!! If anyone can lend their services as witness or photographers please send on your details too smiling smiley

Thank you,

Michael & Rachel.
Hi guys
I would definitely plan for the 23rd it's gonna be a madhouse on the 24th and also remember that there's a 24 hour waiting period after you get your license
